E-FILE MANICURE VERSUS BASIC MANICURE

Manicures have been around for a long time but have you ever heard of an electric file manicure? Or also known as the Russian manicure?

The basic manicure starts with the nail technician soaking your hand in warm soapy water to soothe and soften the cuticles. Then they buff, file and trim the cuticles. This method is great but we can only get so much with just a pair of nippers! The water also softens not just your dead skin but the skin on your hand that's still alive, often making it hard to tell which to nip off. If we take off too much then we can cause trauma to the cuticle. It will look nice and clean for the first 24 hours but afterward it will start peeling upwards.

The E-file manicure means we perform on dry skin. We use different E-file bits to push back and exfoliate the dead skin which gives us a more clean and polished look! There's lots of speculations online that the Russian manicure is dangerous because it pushes and sands your skin too much, breaking the protective seal. This is true depending on your skin and nail type! Your nail technician should be able to tell you which method would work best for you. The electric file is a professional tool, as well as the other techniques and products used everyday in our salon. When used properly it will deliver amazing results! Make sure to go to someone experienced and knows what's up!
